Maurice Gomberg, born Moritz Gomberg in Odessa, Russia in 1894, died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in America on March 22nd, 1958, aged 64.

At that time, Maurice lived at Rittenhouse Court #4, at 1830 Manning Street. His father’s name is given on the death certificate as Solomon, also born in Russia. However, in 1913, when Moritz boarded the S.S. Tunisian for North America, his father may already have been deceased – (unless he preceded the son to America) – because Moritz listed the name of his “nearest relative or friend” in Russia on the 1913 Manifest as that of his Uncle in Odessa, Sheia Krakowsky.
